Slow cooking ham

The secret for a juicy ham is to simmer for a long time. The classic way to prepare ham on the bone, just like our grandmothers used to do.

Preparation :

20 minutes

Cooking time :

9h

Portions :

9 to 10

Ideal for :

Bone-in ham

Ingredients

    • 1 Lévesque bone-in ham;
    • 1 yellow onion;
    • 4 to 5 garlic clove;
    • 3/4 cup of Dijon Mustard;
    • Spices to taste.

Preparation step by step

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325°F or 160°C.

Step 2

Get the Lévesque bone-in ham out of its bag, remove the netting and any other packing material that may be included. Place the ham in a roasting pan or an ovenproof dish with a lid.

Step 3

In a bowl, combine mustard and spices, then spread over the ham. Mince the garlic and onion and distribute in the baking dish around the ham.

Step 4

Gently fill the roasting pan with clear tap water to completely cover the ham, taking care not to remove the mustard.

Step 5

Put the lid on the roasting pan and place in oven for 9 hours. Make sure to keep an eye on the cooking process.
